The Akron Zips mens soccer team will begin defense of it’s 2011 NCAA National Championship on Thursday night when they host Big Ten Champions Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. The Zips(13-3-4) and Wildcats(11-4-5) winner will then have to travel to face No. 6 seed SMU in the second round on Sunday night.
